Teen Services Librarian


The Teen Services Librarian position is a role requiring flexibility, initiative, strong organizational skills, and an ability to identify the interests of our teen patrons.


Position Description

  • Provide reference and readers’ advisory assistance
  • Participate in the collection development process by maintaining budget, selecting, and weeding materials in assigned areas
  • Plan and implement teen programs of interest to the community
  • Provide instruction on the Library’s digital offerings and e-sources to patrons
  • Keep current on age appropriate materials for teens and adults
  • Create attractive and interesting displays
  • Post entries regularly to Library book recommendation blogs


  • Master’s in Library Science
  • Experience working with teens
  • At least 1 year of experience in a public library preferred
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to teach
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
  • Good time management and organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously


  • $21.28/hour, non-exempt
  • Full time, 37.5 hours/week
  • Days, evenings, and weekends
