Theodor Seuss Geisel Award

The Geisel Award is given each year to the authors and illustrators of the most distinguished American book
for beginning readers published in English. The winners, who receive a bronze medal, are recognized for their literary and artistic achievements that demonstrate creativity and imagination to actively engage children in reading.  Honor Book authors and illustrators receive certificates for their achievement.
